October 10, 2011 05:30 PM PDT

We will keep this site open for our pre-Cage Junkies shows. However, from now on, our shows will be stored on http://cagejunkies.com

For several years, Bob Carson’s weekly program “Carson’s Corner” has received recognition as one of the top alternative Mixed Martial Arts themed shows currently in production.

In that time, Carson, who has developed a reputation for speaking his mind regardless of the circumstances, has received national recognition in several prominent MMA themed magazines and has grown to be a name synonymous with the sport itself.

Carson will be bringing his nationally recognized show to the Cage Junkies Radio Network starting Thursday September 22.

In his first episode, Carson will air interviews with long time MMA veteran Vladimir Matyushenko and Cage Junkies Radio Network head Jay Pagliaro.

“When we set out to form the Cage Junkies Radio Network, it was the goal of all of us to bring on the best MMA themed radio programming to the table,” Pagliaro said. “When Charles McCarthy approached me to consider Carson’s Corner, I felt it was a great opportunity to help us take a major step forward in prominence. I’m a fan of Carson’s approach, a fan of Carson personally and I think combining Carson’s Corner with the show I host with Heath Herring; we have unlimited potential in terms of our prospective growth.”

Carson’s show will air every Thursday from 8-9 PM Eastern Time

Larson meets Carson at a career crossroads
September 11, 2011 01:53 PM PDT

Brock Larson made a name for himself in the MMA world with an incredible 12-1 streak of fights between 2006 and 2009, including a stint as one of the most dominant champions in WEC history.

Now, after a recent upset loss to Eric Davila in under 10 seconds which shocked fans and analysts alike, Larson has come to a critical point in his career. Will he regain the form which brought him the title? What happened against Davila that caused such a quick KO, and can anything other than "keep your hands up" be learned from such a fight? Is he someone who needs to come out and take control from the opening bell in order to fight most effectively? Did any of his setbacks cause him to feel like he had lost his way as a fighter? Larson joins Carson in this candid and honest interview which sees him spell out where he think things went wrong and how he plans to get back on track.

In addition to discussing the future of his fight career, Brock takes some time to reflect with Bob on his background and greatest in-ring moments. Would he seriously have hurt Kevin Knabjian if their fight hadn't been stopped as Carson suggests? How much damage has the movie "Fargo" done to the reputation of Brainerd natives internationally? This may be the most complete interview of Larson's career courtesy of hall-of-fame host Bob Carson.

After talking to Brock and giving his thoughts on the weekend's Klitschko-Adamek/Strikeforce events, Bob welcomes Grandmaster Frank Dux back to the show for an update from the martial arts ambassador. What has "The Secret Man" been working on since he and Bob last sat down together? Carson and the kumite champ handle business as usual!

Billy Dee Williams is BACK!

AMA Fight Club prospect Billy Dee Williams made national headlines in April when he donated the purse from his pro debut to a teammate ailing with cancer. Carson's Corner covered the story and tens of thousands of you tuned in to hear Billy and Bob discuss Scott Fairlamb's struggle for cancer and the efforts by his team mates and friends to help him with his medical bills.

Now Billy Dee Williams is BACK on Carson's Corner to talk about how the fight itself went down. Did the huge nature of the story add any additional pressure in the ring? How has he adjusted his training and refocused himself? Billy Dee is blunt when addressing his frustrations about his own performance during the fight and his plans for redemption when he next steps into the cage on October 22nd.

In addition to an update on Scott - who plans to have a boxing match soon! - and analysis of his own career, Billy provides Bob with the inside scoop on events involving AMA fighters, including recent displays of heart in thrilling fights by brothers Dan and Jim Miller, plus the recent arrival of Jamie Varner at the team and the intense sparring sessions which have been the result.

Billy is fired up for his next fight and vows "NEVER AGAIN" to make the same mistake!

"Chainsaw" Charles McCarthy is back!

Fans have been posting and e-mailing about a new Carson's Corner interview with Charles McCarthy for some time, and Bob Carson delivers the goods with this episode in hall-of-fame fashion!

Bob and Charles spoke shortly before his fight with Michael Bisping all the way back at UFC 83 more than fifty events ago. Since then, a huge amount has changed in the life of The Chainsaw both personally and professionally and this in-depth update will give you all the details on his life after retiring as an active fighter. How has he adjusted to life outside of the cage? How permanent is his decision to step away from fighting, and how often is he tempted back (if ever)? What does he think of other fighters from the early days of the sport now struggling financially due to their inability to adjust to a more normal life? Does he have any advice for others contemplating retirement? Charles shares his experiences and perspective on walking away from fighting the right way.

Chainsaw also has a huge amount of expertise and knowledge as a competitor, trainer and grappler and he shares plenty of it during this discussion. As someone who fought Bisping, what does he think of his old foe's disproportionately criticized foul on Jorge Rivera and subsequent complaints by "Ranger Up" members, and did they cross the line? Would it be fair to call Charles a somewhat sadistic grappler? What does he think of "trolling" on the MMA forums? What about his new Cage Junkies website venture?

There's more in this interview than can possibly fit into this mailout. McCarthy is one of the most thoughtful and discerning athletes associated with the sport of MMA to date - check it out!!

Charlie Brenneman!
August 12, 2011 02:51 PM PDT
itunes pic

Charlie Brenneman is fresh off a huge upset of Rick Story in a UFC main event, and now the streaking prospect joins established MMA media veteran Bob Carson to discuss his emergence as a top contender.

As well as going over his background as a teacher, athlete and reality show contestant on Pros vs. Joes, Brenneman gives Bob his first-person take on his most significant in-ring moments to date - including the controversial Story kimura standup and the recent fan backlash against wrestling-based fighters.

But Brenneman also has a huge fight with Anthony "Rumble" Johnson coming up as well, leading he and Bob to look to the future and break down Johnson as an opponent plus the style matchup as a whole. Does Brenneman think Johnson lacks discipline outside the cage? What about his promises for a standup war that never came to fruition against Dan Hardy?

Tune in to hear from "The Spaniard" directly, then stick around to get the latest MMA news direct from Carson himself, - including the launch of Shannon Ritch and Miesha Tate's new game for Apple mobile devices and a referee seminar with Mario Yamasaki that featured some intriguing comments from the veteran UFC official!

Anthony Njokuani on Carson's Corner!
August 01, 2011 07:45 PM PDT
itunes pic

Muay thai MMAist Anthony Njokuani is fresh off a striking clinic vs. dangerous Brit Andre Winner and now looking ahead to a November matchup in the UK against Paul Taylor in a fight that promises technically sound fireworks!

Njokuani recently fought his way into Carson's Pit to give the hall-of-fame host his first person perspective on both the Taylor and Winner fights, not to mention the martial arts journey which brought him to the UFC and scored three consecutive "knockout of the night" bonuses in the WEC along the way.

What was going through Anthony's mind as his limbs repeatedly struck Winner's face and body? Does he think he could be the first man to finish the Scouse fighter they call "Relentless"? Did he ever use his muay thai skills against the bullies whose abuse directly inspired his initial self-defense training?

Njokuani is a rising star now joining one of the world's top ten audio shows. Be there!

After talking to Anthony Bob wraps up the second half of his entertaining and enlightening interview with ESPN and Sherdog writer Jason Probst, making this another content-rich edition of Carson's Corner which you should definitely check out.

Part 1 of Jason Probst.
July 23, 2011 05:01 PM PDT

On this episode of the show, freelance writer Jase Probst joins HOFer Bob Carson for a wide-ranging discussion that touches on his upbringing in the mists of Yelm. his history as a combat sports journalist, which individuals from his own profession he respects or reviles and a few tangents which may surprise you.

Have Probst and Carson ingested whatever it was Diego Sanchez had during the "night out in Vegas" misadventure from TUF season 1, or is this an issue which merits more scrutiny? Has the UG "moderation crisis" threatened the forum's relevance? You'll have to tune in to find out!

One thing is for sure: Probst has distinguished himself from the rest of the MMA writing pack and is considered one of the foremost public analysts of the fight game. Click below to hear his take on personalities as diverse as Mike Tyson, Dana White and Carson lifestyle coach Dan Quinn.

In addition to talking to Jase, Carson breaks down Zab Judah vs. Amir Khan and reflects on the untimely passing of singer Amy Winehouse in his own inimitable style.

"It's not for sale, per se...BUT..." Mark Pavelich is back!
July 13, 2011 06:50 PM PDT
itunes pic

Mark Pavelich's MFC promotion has been grabbing headlines again recently, with everything from news of a new 5 year TV deal with HDNet to rumors of the promotion's sale doing the rounds in the last few weeks. Now head honcho "Big Pav" rejoins hall-of-famer Bob Carson to address each item directly in his inimitable and largely uncensored style!

Pavelich clearly has a lot of belief in himself and his promotion. What were the "frustrations" which caused him to make the initial "for sale" pronouncement? Does he stand by what he posted about being willing to sell the show, or is he simply now willing to entertain meaningful offers for something with more than a decade of hard work behind it? Pavelich is brutally honest when assessing both the competition and his own efforts.

It's not all sale talk, though, because the MFC CEO has a new TV deal and a returning champ at 155 in Antonio McKee to discuss - plus much more! Whatever your feelings about Mark Pavelich on a personal level, it's hard to argue with thirty successful MMA events to date - but whether you're looking for news about upcoming fights or simply require fuel for anti-Pavelich rants on different internet forums you should be highly entertained by this meeting between two of the most colorful characters in combat sports.

Don't miss it!

Monson Part 2.
July 09, 2011 07:33 AM PDT

Hall-of-fame host Bob Carson's first installment of the definitive Jeff Monson interview received attention from all over the world, including several mainstream news publications!

Now PART 2 of Jeff Monson's appearance has been released, fans of MMA should tune in to hear Monson and Carson continue their in-depth discussion of issues ranging from the political to the personal and professional as two of the most interesting personalities in the game take things in a direction rarely heard on combat sports shows.

What does the oft-quoted anarchist really think of American society as it stands now, and how could it potentially be improved? Is his much misunderstood vision of a world without hierarchy attainable, even on a local level? What distinction should be drawn between patriotism and blind loyalty? How does he reconcile his anti-capitalist beliefs with taking money from corporations as forum members and detractors have often demanded to know? Monson is brutally honest yet intelligent and interesting as he responds to some of the most frequent criticisms of his personal philosophy and acknowledges his role in an imperfect system.

After the conversation with Jeff concludes, Carson turns his withering gaze towards the recent Haye vs. Klitschko fight and the world of combat sports in general. DON'T MISS IT!

Jeff Monson responds to Stann and more - part one!
July 01, 2011 03:35 PM PDT
itunes pic

MMA contender Jeff "The Snowman" Monson joins hall-of-fame host Bob "The Thriller" Carson for the most insightful and original discussion of personal and social politics the MMA world has witnessed thusfar!
Tune in to hear Monson respond directly to war hero Brian Stann, who recently opined that Jeff should be made to live in Mexico for his dissent about U.S. domestic and foreign policy. Has Captain Stann failed to understand the nuanced worldview Monson holds? Who wins in a hypothetical matchup with or without Stann's M-16?

Monson has always been one of the most interesting personalities of his era in MMA and this interview sees both host and guest in excellent form. Who fixes the sewers in an anarchic state? Is that a contradiction? Are all of Monson's fight outcomes determined by his ability to secure the takedown? Has he marketed himself and his beliefs in a potentially hypocritical way? Neither man holds anything back in this immensely enjoyable conversation.

Afterwards, hear analyst Bob Carson discuss the potential Toney vs. Shamrock fight, the arrest of Brett Rogers and more!

Miesha Tate is coming for blood!

Afterwards Carson gives his thoughts on the latest happenings from the MMA world, the Klitschko vs. Haye "Pizza Face" sensation and much more. This is the number one MMA podcast for a reason! Don't miss it.

Shannon Ritch holds nothing back in this new interview, and for support he's bringing the 6'5", 290lb "American Soldier"!

2010 saw mixed results for Shannon, but will 2011 be the next "Year of the Cannon" and rival 2008's string of victories? Shannon is already 3-0 this year. Why does Sherdog refuse to recognize one of those wins?

Tune in to hear Shannon's uncensored thoughts on his newest streak and much more. What does the man with the greatest finishing % in MMA think of the new emphasis on wrestling and recent run of decisions in UFC main events?

Shannon takes the point on this mission but "The American Soldier" is never far behind. With a 7-1 record Prindle is making a name for himself in Bellator and has trained with Brock Lesnar's "DEATHCLUTCH" camp. Who is the strongest person he's ever faced? Do all other MMA fighters have to salute Captain Brian Stann?

Two entertaining finishers go full auto before Maitreya Dan Quinn joins his lifestyle protege Bob Carson to give an update on his own struggles against worldwide ignorance, famine and obesity. It's an incredibly content rich episode of Carson's Corner!

Now, thanks to Carson's Corner Australian bureau chief Justin Lawrence, Ebersole returns to go on the record with the gutsy journalistic gamebred interviewing sensation sometimes known as "The Thriller" by listeners. What were the factors behind his late addition to the card? How did he gameplan to take out Lytle? Did he intend to be disrespectful with some of his mid-fight antics?

In defeating Lytle, Brian Ebersole has proved that he belongs in the UFC. Tune in to hear the best post-fight breakdown of the fight anywhere from Bob and Brian himself!

Ashida Kim

The guest on today's Carson's Corner is ninja grandmaster Ashida Kim.

Ashida Kim is a polarizing figure in the world of martial arts. Those who know him are fiercely loyal to him and stand by him through thick and thin. Listen for yourself and decide.

Due to the length of the interview, it has been divided into two parts. You will hear the first part on today's show.

Drew Fickett
January 12, 2011 01:07 PM PST

Cung and his fans experienced a shocking setback when he lost to Scott Smith in another of the latter's uncanny come-from-behind performances. Did his mental state suffer after that defeat? Carson and Le turn in another entertaining and candid interview that will endear you to both men.

Cole "Apache Kid" Escovedo and Dan Quinn
December 07, 2010 11:32 PM PST

A straightforward Wikipedia account of Cole Escovedo reads as follows:

"Cole Escovedo (born August 30, 1981) is an American mixed martial artist from Fresno, California. He is a former (as well as first) Featherweight Champion in World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC).

After nearly three years since Cole Escovedo has competed in mixed martial arts action, the jiu-jitsu wizard and former WEC featherweight champion returned on May 8, 2009 at a Palace Fighting Championship event at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif. Escovedo was forced into a well documented semi-retiremment in 2007 from a serious staph infection that left him partially paralyzed and in need of spinal surgery. Escovedo's comeback to MMA was his first fight in the 135 lb Bantamweight division."

However, there's much more to this man than a simple Wikipedia entry can give. It's just not as simple as a single internet page would have you believe. You have to dig deeper. And for this deeper look at the man, a much better source is needed than something like Wikipedia. Indeed, if you want a deeper look at Cole Escovedo, you're going to have to put Bob Carson on the job.

Fortunately for you, that is exactly what we at Carson's Corner have done. The result is nothing short of magic. Listen to this interview and be transfixed and transformed.

And if that weren't enough, we have our old friend Dan Quinn back on the show! Dan is his usual exciting self, and you'll be endlessly entertained and inspired by what he has to say.

Shane Roller ROLLS into Carson's Pit to roll with Bob Carson!
Clean
December 03, 2010 01:40 PM PST

Shane Roller is set to take on polarizing former WEC LW champion Jamie Varner at WEC 53, the last event to be held under that banner before the organization disappears and merges permanently with the UFC.

Roller is coming off a disappointing loss to Anthony Pettis although the fight itself will definitely be on many "best of the year" lists. Does Roller feel like he went too hard trying to finish Pettis? How frustrating was it to lose after going back-and-forth? How does he plan to rebound and perform against Varner like he did when dominating and choking out Anthony Njokuani? What sort of pressure does he feel being part of a smaller merged roster and will it change the way that he fights inside the cage? Will he break with the Team Takedown tradition and call out another fighter by name on the show?

Tune in to hear from the latest Team Takedown fighter to step into The Pit with Hall-of-Fame host Bob Carson! Of course, as well as talking to Shane, Bob gives the latest rundown from around the world of MMA and combat sports.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to holiday commitments last week our episode featuring Frank Dux and Lion's Den former associate/wildman Eric Nyenhuis was not mailed out separately. Please check out the interview with Frank and Eric on the main podcast page beneath Roller's appearance!

Jason Brilz and Dan Quinn!
November 07, 2010 08:28 AM PST

Jason Brilz brawls his way into Carson's Pit! Who will be awarded the controversial split decision? What does it take to take out a hall-of-famer like Bob Carson?

Brilz and Bob discuss his background as an intellectual and physical "double threat" in high school and college where he acquired athletic and also academic accolades. Did "The Hitman" use his combination of wrestling and general knowledge for good or evil as a young man? As well as his journey to the UFC and adulthood, Carson and Jason talk about his controversial split decision losses to Rogerio Nogueira and Eliot "The Fire" Marshall, the "Bret Hart hairstyle" (pictured above) and when he might next be seen in the ring competing.

After a break to analyze Pat Barry vs. Joey Beltran, "Fight for the Troops" and Ariel Helwani's involvement with zombie motorcycle enthusiasts Bob is joined by the raging prophet of stevia DAN QUINN for a fired-up series of promises and threats!

Dan is set to take on Rick Vardell in a rematch very soon. Will a slimmed-down Dan Quinn put the XARM bodybuilder away even more quickly this time? What is the source of his seemingly relentless anger at Scott Smith? All of it is here - and ONLY here - on Carson's Corner!

What about his brother, heavyweight wrestler and potential MMA prospect Jared Rosholt?

Trevor Wittman & Bon Cacho
October 20, 2010 02:39 PM PDT

It's baaaaaaaaack...Carson's Corner with Baaaaab Carson! Another hot show is here, and this time it features none other than striking coach Trevor Wittman.

MMA enthusiasts almost certainly know Wittman from his work with championship-level fighters like Rashad Evans, Shane Carwin and others. In this excellent new interview which touches on many areas never discussed publicly before, Trevor gives his candid and often blunt thoughts on topics like the Carwin steroids controversy, whether fans who dislike Rashad Evans and James McSweeney hae judged them too harshly, his opinion that Roy Nelson as a "lazy" fighter who he expects to get knocked out again, his somewhat controversial freestyle rapping technique and many more!

If you thought Trevor Wittman was an interesting character after seeing him on "The Ultimate Fighter" then you definitely need to check out an interview that will educate, amuse and surprise you.

That's not all, though - on this episode, Bob also talks to Bon Cacho of www.fight-soap.com, now retailing a line of hygiene products specifically geared towards the world of MMA and combat sports! This is another thrilling episode of Carson's Corner that you won't want to miss.

And so much more!

There is also news, rumors and Bob's trademark raw humor. Tune in and find out what they've been raving about at work!

UFC fighter Johny Hendricks of Team Takedown
October 09, 2010 04:06 PM PDT

On this installment of "Carson's Corner," UFC fighter, NCAA division 1 champion and hot MMA prospect Johny Hendricks joins the show!

Fresh off eating a bunch of junk food at the state fair in Texas, Hendricks sits down with hall of fame host Bob Carson to talk about a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to) the following:

The unique concept behind "Team Takedown" and their recent relocation to Texas from Las Vegas

Whether or not the Vegas lifestyle of clubbing and being photographed by women was hard to adjust to

His upcoming fight with Rick Story and his thoughts on "The Horror" as an opponent

His occasionally reckless sandwich-eating habits and whether his training offsets the risks

Whether he would use his highly developed wrestling skill to "snooze out" a victory in the UFC

His "Happy Beard Guy" persona and whether the beard and happiness conceal a secret dark side

In the classic Carson tradition this is another great interview with a top fighter! In addition to his sporting an unbeaten record, Hendricks is an interesting character who defies various sports-related stereotypes with his actions and demeanor. Tune in to hear his answers to the award-winning questions of Bob Carson, "the best around."

In addition to Hendricks, Bob also discusses some news from around the world of combat sports (including the upcoming North American Freestyle Sambo Championships) and plays the latest instalment from none other than "Saint of Stevia" Dan Quinn!

Today's featured guest is Ulysses Gomez. Mr. Gomez is highly touted in the worlds of mixed martial arts and submission grappling. He recently won a bantamweight bout on the Bellator 27 fight card.

Mr. Gomez and show host Bob Carson sat down earlier today and discussed a very broad range of topics. They talked about, among other things, the alleged street fight that Mr. Gomez had with former boxing world champion Fernando "El Feroz" Vargas, Mr. Gomez's participation in the Underground Forum, his feelings about Marc Laimon's move to Texas, his fighting future and more. These two literally talk until Mr. Gomez's phone craps out!

On today's "Ask Frank Dux" segment, Frank brings a very special guest with him, Mr. Justin Ray Harvey. This is a follow-up from the discussion on last week's show, where a listener emailed to ask Frank about his work with the physically disadvantaged. Ryan Jensen talks Court McGee, Ultimate Ultimate and his guillotine choke!
August 05, 2010 02:56 PM PDT

You read the subject right: Ryan Jensen - who faces TUF winner Court McGee at UFC 121 - is reportedly "not at all impressed" by his future opponent's skills.

What makes Jensen so confident in his chances of victory against the former pantsless drug addict McGee? What would he say to fans who call some of his comeback wins "lucky"? What are his feelings about the controversial stoppage in his fight with Steve Steinbeiss? What was it like being at The ULTIMATE Ultimate with SWAT team officer/ninja Steve Jennum as a teenager?

Jensen and Bob have an extremely entertaining discussion that will tell you all you need to know (for now) about the PayPal complaints department employee-turned-fighter. In addition to his chinwag with Ryan, Bob covers some other topics relating to the world of combat sports as only he can!

Ken Pavia
July 30, 2010 03:58 PM PDT

Fans of Carson's Corner know Ken Pavia as the smooth-talking spiritual leader of MMA Agents, a firm of sports agents within the world of Mixed Martial Arts - hence the name. Now fans of combat sports are starting to refer to Pavia as 'the man recently sued by Zuffa.'

Is Dana White lashing out with another petty lawsuit, or was polarizing figure Ken Pavia an undercover spy for the Bellator promotion who gave away valuable trade secrets? Listen for clues in this interview as he and Bob discuss other recent events, including Jake O'Brien's disappointing weight cut and DREAM performance. Was that all simply a DREAM? No. It really happened. Tune in to hear Pavia talk about it!

After his head-to-head with Ken, Bob tackles the fraud fines paid by Shane Carwin's manager and a recent tragic death in the world of kickboxing.

Don't forget - martial arts Grandmaster Franx Dux also answers your listener e-mails for our show, and this week he gives CC fans the inside scoop on how to prepare yourself for delivering potentially stomach-turning groin strikes. This is another one you don't want to miss!

Aaron Brink, former UFC star
July 01, 2010 04:00 PM PDT

Former UFC fighter Aaron Brink has led a very interesting life.

On August 20, he crosses paths with Dan Quinn, as the two are set to square off on a Gladiator Challenge show. It's a fight that is sure to generate a high volume of excitement and stevia purchases.

Aaron sat down with host Bob Carson on July 1 for an extended talk. In addition to discussing the Quinn fight, they also cover Aaron's time as a UFC fighter, his descent into the adult entertainment industry, his well-chronicled bouts with drug addiction and more. It's not an interview you'll hear anywhere else, particularly since the other MMA shows seem to be mostly interested in boring the hell out of listeners. This interview definitely ain't boring.

After the interview, you'll be treated to a full segment of news and a full segment of listener email. It's a well-rounded and complete show. Shows like this are why Bob Carson was a first ballot 2009 inductee into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

Bullshido investigators reply to Frank Dux
June 10, 2010 10:49 AM PDT

Bullshido.net investigators Samuel Browning and Chuck Hardin recently requested a sit-down with MMA godfather Bob Carson. Their request was made because they wanted to reply to certain statements made by Frank Dux in his recent Carson's Corner interview. Carson, a kind and benevolent leader, agreed.

Today's show features Bob's talk with Browning and Hardin.

Among the topics discussed: What, in the opinion of these men, makes Frank Dux tick? Just how biased was the judge in the Frank Dux vs. Jean-Claude Van Damme trial? Are the Bullshido.net people involved with White Supremacists? Is Bullshido.net linked with Wikipedia? Does Bullshido.net make money off of the Frank Dux name?

The recent two-part Dux/Carson interview reinvigorated MMA radio and raised the bar for the entire genre. While the others scramble to react, Carson's Corner marches onward. This show is in that spirit.

After the interview, stay tuned to catch Bob's thoughts on DREAM, the UFC and more.

Frank Dux - Part 2
June 04, 2010 12:13 PM PDT

Response to the first part of this interview with the legendary Frank Dux was greater than anyone at Carson's Corner could have expected, so thank you to all our listeners and Frank himself for making the show such a huge success!

He's back - this is part TWO of the now-infamous Bob Carson interview with Frank Dux. In part one, Frank gave Bob his thoughts on the UFC, his participation in the dangerous underground "kumite" tournament and much more.

Now Frank Dux and Bob go into the former's occasionally disputed background in covert operations with the CIA, originally detailed in Dux's book "The Secret Man." After the harrowing story of how his parents survived the holocaust, Dux goes into further detail about the life and training which helped him become one of Earth's most well-known martial artists.

"I was probably the most powerful kicker and puncher in martial arts history" -- Frank Dux

If you're curious about some of the statistics and records which have been attributed to Frank over the years you should tune in and hear his take on them, plus some of the criticism he's received online from sites like Bullshido. Are Bullshido and Wikipedia working together to try and distort the truth about Dux? Tune in to hear him make his case.

Did Dux sue actor Jean Claude Van Damme in order to try and force the drug-addicted Belgian to straighten his life out? Did the jury believe Dux's side but find themselves forced to vote in Van Damme's favor by the judge? It's all here! Don't miss out on the second part of the most talked about martial arts interview of the year so far.

Part two will be released later this week and will be part of a full Carson show.

Topics covered on part one include the following:

- the kumite
- the alleged street fight with Zane Frazier
- Dux's opinion of the UFC
- and tons more!

Dux is one of the most controversial characters in modern martial arts history - don't miss this opportunity to hear directly from the man himself on topics fight fans have been debating for decades!

Mac Danzig ready for war with Wiman!
May 27, 2010 10:36 PM PDT

Mac Danzig has always been one of the most listened-to guests in Carson's Corner history; when Mac speaks, fans and detractors alike want to listen.

Mac has made memorable appearances on our show during both the high and low points of his career, from his dominant win at the TUF finale to his frustrating losses to Clay Guida and Josh Neer. This time he talks to Bob just a few weeks out from his next fight against Matt Wiman. Both men are hungry to break through to the next level and establish themselves as possible contenders, but only one will succeed this time. Who will it be?

Whatever happens in the fight, Mac sounds reinvigorated and ready to go "full rock 'n' roll" in the ring! If you want to hear his thoughts on "Handsome/The Fine Man" as an opponent and his gameplan to deal with near-legendary good looks, the back-and-forth Justin Buchholz fight (where Mac admits to being badly rocked), fellow CC guest Shannon Ritch and much more, make sure you check this interview out!

After sitting down with Mac, Carson handles business and breaks down the RIDICULOUS Shaq vs. Liddell hypothetical Dana White fantasy matchup, bizarre new website DogBoxer.net (WARINING: listen to Bob's thoughts before visiting), Robert Downey Jr.'s recent success and everything you could possibly want to know this week.

TUF alumnus Jason Dent and Chris Lozano
May 14, 2010 07:16 PM PDT

NAAFS champion middleweight Chris Lozano and NAAFS champion lightweight Jason Dent are going to fight each other. Lozano recently delivered a slap to the face of Jason Dent. This slap is what set it all off. Two fighters, two rival fight teams, one fight to settle it.

The two fighters recently joined Carson's Corner host Bob Carson via conference call to talk about the upcoming fight, which takes place on June 5, 2010, in Cleveland, Ohio. The event is titled, "Fight Nite in the Flats VI," and features professional and amateur MMA. Check out http://www.naafs.tv for more information.

Jason, Chris and Bob talk about the midwest fight scene, fighters to look out for, their upcoming fight and more. Dent is a multi-time UFC fighter and Lozano is widely recognized as one of the top MMA prospects on the fight scene. This should be a very high-level professional fight.

After the interview, Bob hits upon a few news items, including mention of Strikeforce in St. Louis, SHINE fights, Dan Quinn and the exhumation of the late Edwin Valero.

Dan Quinn is out of jail!
May 10, 2010 11:42 PM PDT

MMA fighter Dan Quinn just completed a stay in jail and we have him on today's show. Dan told host Bob Carson, in a lengthy interview, about the jail stay and much, much more. When is Dan fighting next? What supplement does Dan strongly advocate? What really goes on in jail? Tune in to find out.

After the interview, Bob has some strong words for Paul Daley, Kimbo Slice and the UFC. That, plus a discussion of the Kermit Cintron vs. Paul Williams fight means that this is a very strong show. When you wrap MMA information and MMA entertainment into a radio show, and throw in a little boxing news, you get Carson's Corner. It's the perfect storm.

Mark Pavelich talks Strikeforce brawl, Bellator and MFC 25!
May 02, 2010 09:28 PM PDT

The always outspoken and frequently polarizing Mark Pavelich recently sat down with host Bob Carson to share some of his perspective on the world of MMA.

Tune in to hear Pavelich's take on the brawl between Cesar Gracie's team and Mayhem Miller at Strikeforce (and his criticisms of the way things were handled), his feelings about the emergence of Bellator as a new promotion and the seemingly unstoppable MFC juggernaut under his control!

In fact, the MFC returns TOMORROW - May 7th - with another intriguing card. Don't miss this interview with one of MMA's most determined promoters getting ready for another big show!

Ryan Thomas on Bellator Screwjob
April 18, 2010 05:47 AM PDT

Look at the gif above. Does that look like a fair stoppage to you? Thomas clearly did not tap and was not being visibly choked. Whether you think he would have won the fight or not, it's no surprise that he feels cheated out of the chance to compete to his full potential...and now he's back on Carson's Corner to speak his mind!

Bob sits down with Ryan in the immediate aftermath of the fight to get his thoughts on the stoppage, Askren as an opponent, disrespectful post-fight comments and fan support for his appeal against the official result. Ryan is looking for Bellator to make things right and compensate him in some way for the outcome and he makes his case for that here!

As well as talking to Ryan, Bob also breaks down the recent Strikeforce show with Chris Thomas of http://www.nufocusenergy.com/ and the mighty Eddie Goldman, then gives his thoughts on Anderson Silva, Thomas vs. Mayorga and the upcoming "Moosin" event.

Alex Karalexis talks WEC fight with Anthony Pettis, plus more Nyenhuis!
April 15, 2010 11:28 PM PDT

Carson's Corner has returned! This time, Bob brings in hard working WEC punchologist Alex Karalexis to discuss his time on the UFC reality show, growing up Greek with two sisters and his upcoming battle with highly regarded prospect Anthony Pettis.

Does Alex feel his go-for-broke style has hurt him in the past? Will he be trying to punch a hole in Pettis's face or employing a more strategic approach? Are the stories about a disgruntled TUF season 1 cast wading through crap due to sewage problems based in fact? How badly does Karalexis want revenge after falling victim to the Von Flue Choke, the most DECEPTIVE™ move in MMA? Tune in to find out!

That's not all for this episode, though: in addition to Alex, Carson also hosts the irascible and entertaining Eric Nyenhuis to share his thoughts on the world in general. Many of you love to hear from Eric and he doesn't disappoint in this appearance!

After the interviews Bob takes a little time to talk about Phil Baroni's recent activity, UFC judge/attention seeker Doug Crosby and the Mayweather vs. Mosley undercard.

Swamp Donkey on Huck's dirty fighting and the travesty in Germany!
March 17, 2010 04:43 PM PDT

Recent WBO title challenger Adam "Swamp Donkey" Richards returns from Germany to share his thoughts on what happened in his fight for the belt and why he feels cheated by the outcome.

A former sparring partner for Evander Holyfield, "Swamp Donkey" recently dropped to cruiserweight and was undefeated in that division until his loss to Marco Huck last Saturday. During the fight Huck landed a series of flagrant illegal shots with elbows and forearms. Ignoring Richards' complaints and a very visible gash on the back of his head, the referee waved off the fight following yet another elbow strike and actually pushed him to the ground as he did so.

It's no surprise that "Swamp Donkey" is mad about what went down, and he makes that clear in this entertaining interview with the one and only Bob Carson! As well as discussing the fight, Bob asks Adam for his thoughts on MMA and whether he would consider trying his hand at it, his exciting war with Chazz Witherspoon, plans for the future and much more.

After talking to Richards, Carson also hosts Jose Canseco vs. Herschel Walker petition organizer Terry "The Fridge" Burton to get the lowdown on his efforts to have an MMA fight between two legends from other sports made into a reality.

This is an action-packed episode which covers boxing, MMA and anything else involving people getting punched in the face...don't miss it!

James Z. Feng
February 25, 2010 01:09 AM PST

Award-winning writer/director/producer James Z. Feng is the guest on today's edition of Carson's Corner. Mr. Feng's latest project is a documentary about mixed martial arts called "Fight Life." The film has been described in this way:

"Starring three different fighters in different points in their career, Fight Life brings you a spectrum. From the 15 long minutes inside the cage to the countless hours in the gym, this new profession of mixed-martial arts has finally flourished into mainstream America. The evolution of the sport within the last ten years from an underground sport to Spike TV and CBS has surprised all nay-sayers who a decade ago said the sport would never survive 2000. Along with this new sport comes the lifestyle of professional fighters who are paving the way for the next big thing."

Mr. Feng sat down with our Bob Carson for a thorough discussion on the movie, including the story behind the movie: how Mr. Feng became involved with this project. It's an interesting interview, and it's likely to whet your appetite for this 2010 release. For additional details on "Fight Life," go to http://www.fightlife.tv.

The Dudleys respond to ESPN's "Outside The Lines."
Clean
July 24, 2008 07:20 PM PDT

ESPN's "Outside the Lines" show featured a segment on children in MMA last weekend. Though purporting to be a fair and unbiased report, the truth is that the show unfairly cast the people who are involved in youth MMA in a negative light. Two of the people shown on this broadcast were Kirk and Drake Dudley.

We are extremely pleased that Kirk and Drake have agreed to appear on Carson's Corner and, to degree it can be done, set the record straight. You will hear, in their words, how ESPN misled the two, as well as others involved in the show, into believing that the reporting would present all sides in a balanced manner. Carson's Corner does not engage in creative editing, so you won't get a chopped version of their words.

Get to know Kirk and his son Drake in this extensive and unflinching interview.

After the interview, Bob will cover the upcoming EliteXC show on CBS this weekend, give some analysis on other scheduled fights in other organizations, Franklin vs. Hamill, Henderson vs. Palhares, Yoshida vs. Parisyan and much more, including listener email.
