Art Davie, the man who co-created the UFC and helped bring K-1 to American television, is the guest on this Thanksgiving edition of Carson's Corner. Join the show and hear about Art's latest and most extreme project: XARM fighting! If you haven't seen or heard of XARM yet, prepare to be amazed: XARM combines the basic premise of armwrestling with the punches, kicks and even submission holds of an MMA fight.
XARM has already recruited MMA notables like Gary Goodridge and Homer Moore, and Davie tells Bob about their future plans...including when you should expect to see fighters with hands taped together blasting away!
That's not all, though: in addition to discussing XARM, Bob asks Art about his past involvement with both the UFC and K-1 and gets some very interesting answers. Tune in to hear Davie and Carson talk about these other topics:
*
An unfortunate update on the YAMMA promotion
*
Fighters which Davie and the UFC tried to recruit, but couldn't quite come to terms with...including Karelin!
*
The Douglas Dedge tradgedy
*
Allegations by Greg "Kazja" Patschull about Davie and the Gracies stealing ideas from him (including Art's recollection of the Kazja show he attended)
*
His falling out with Bob Meyrowitz and departure from the UFC organization
...and much more!
This is a very revealing interview with one of the pioneers of modern MMA. Don't miss it!
